An exciting opportunity to shape a brand-new school.
We’re looking for an experienced and passionate school leader to join us as Headteacher of our new Oak Bridge School, opening to students in September 2026.
Oak Bridge School will support students who experience barriers to learning through our unique three-stage curriculum, designed to develop 21st century skills and a lifelong love of learning. Our schools provide creative, relational environments where every child is supported to overcome barriers and achieve meaningful success.
This is a rare opportunity to work with us to build something from the ground up – creating a team, shaping a culture, and designing an environment where young people thrive.
About the school
Oak Bridge School is set within the beautiful surroundings of Lloyd Park, Croydon in an extensive campus currently being refurbished in line with our Beautiful Schools philosophy. The design reflects our belief that inspiring, carefully considered environments enable rich, varied learning experiences and wellbeing for all.
About the role
You will:
- Lead the opening and development of the school, creating a positive, inclusive and high-performing culture.
- Implement our progressive, evidence-based curriculum for learners with complex needs associated with SEMH and Autism.
- Recruit, develop and inspire a talented team, modelling emotionally intelligent, relational leadership.
- Collaborate with fellow Headteachers and our Group Support Team to drive innovation across the group.
- Shape the continuing evolution of the Spaghetti Bridge approach challenging the status quo and helping redefine what great education looks like.
- About you
We’re looking for an exceptional leader who embodies our cultural pillars:
- Challenge the Status Quo – You’re unafraid to rethink traditional education. You question assumptions, think creatively, and drive change.
- Work with Passion and Joy – You bring energy and optimism to everything you do. You know that meaningful work should inspire and uplift those around you.
- Unsettling yet Inspiring – You thrive at the edge of your comfort zone, knowing that real progress often feels uncertain at first. You help others see possibility in challenge.
- Tell the Truth, Even When It’s Hard – You lead with honesty, integrity, and curiosity. You listen, ask hard questions, and build trust through authenticity.
You will also bring:
- Substantial leadership experience within a relevant SEND or SEMH/ASC setting.
- A deep understanding of evidence-based practice and interventions that transform outcomes for young people.
- Confidence in using data and evidence to evaluate and drive improvement.
- Strong financial and strategic acumen.
- A proven commitment to staff development, wellbeing and multi-agency collaboration.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
